weather people make me mad
Weather people went nuts yesterday with forecasts for up to six inches of snow in our area. It went so far that I was called and told I need to go into work early (because my 6 a.m. shift isn’t early enough.)
So I debated. Should I go to Spartanburg and risk driving home in snow and ice? After a couple of hours of debating, checking forecasts, talking to friends down in SC, I decided to go. I’d stay for Matt Nathanson’s set (he was playing first, Gavin DeGraw was third and would have gone on around 10) and I’d drive straight home afterwards.
I left SC at 9. Made it home around 10:30. There wasn’t a drop of snow. There were a few flurries as I was coming up the mountain, but I had to strain to see those.
And this morning? I started my workday at 4:30, and there is. no. snow. Maybe in the highest elevations, but that’s mostly ice.
Stupid weather people. I missed most of a great show (still glad I saw Matt) for the chance of snow.
I wish it would snow here. It is suppose to be nearly 70 today. I like winter to be winter!
