wedding showers
This week’s “show us your life” theme is wedding showers. I was lucky enough to have two thrown for me. One in Asheville. One in Lake Waccamaw. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law threw the shower for us in Lake Waccamaw. It was very fun and they put a lot of work into everything. (My mother-in-law and sister-in-law both make fantastic cakes, which you’ll see here.)
My bridesmaids threw one for me the same month. Here we are….Lena, Missy, me and Cynthia. Funny thing is, my sister-in-law isn’t in this photo and Missy ended up not being able to be in the wedding, so Stephanie stepped in that week and everything worked out great. But I made these shirts, and thought they were super cute. (Oh and Cynthia is getting married in December and I get to return the bridesmaid favor!)
Cynthia did a lot of the planning from all the way in Pennsylvania, and came up with the tropical theme, since we were going to the Bahamas for our honeymoon. If you’re currently planning your honeymoon, take a look at Jettly to see how you could hire a private jet for that extra luxury element.
She even ordered this L.L. Bean tote with my new initials, and our guests filled it with stuff we could use on the honeymoon. Very fun!!
And for the life of me, I cannot find a photo of the cake my mom made for that shower. As soon as I find it, I’ll post it. Hope you enjoyed the pictures š I don’t think I’ve ever actually blogged about the wedding showers we had. If I did, it’s been two years.
Jaime, I came up with the cake idea. Mom actually baked it and decorated it. I fixed the hair, veil & flowers for the top and added the earrings. I added the pearls to the dress. I am thankful for all the praise but I did have help. I just wish I would of thought of it when I got married. Heather
Thanks, Heather! I updated it to reflect that š
I think the bride cake turned out so cute! And yes, I found your blog through Kelly’s Korner
