weekend mashup: friends, family and fun (mixed with some not-so-fun)
Happy Monday! I can’t believe how fast the weekend flew by. I could really use more days in the weekend.
I attended another Type-A Summit this past weekend and once again, my mind is blown. I love conferences. Type-A Conferences mean I get to reconnect with old friends while learning new things. A couple of the people I saw this weekend have been my friend for 5+ years. Others I’m confident will be friends for many years to come.
I took the baby along with me Friday evening and Saturday evening. I’m sure she was confused on Sunday as to why we didn’t even leave the house. She was a champ and only mildly fussy during her fussiest hours. The photo above was from my ride home Thursday night.
The view from the suite we were working in. I still love the Jackson Building, no matter where I see it from.
The baby has now visited Mamacita’s, Aloft, French Broad Chocolate Lounge and she experienced a little bit of Goombay. I think that’s all very impressive for being 4 months old. I’m also very impressed by the chairs in Aloft’s lobby. They rocked my girl to sleep.
Friday night was nuts, and it really shouldn’t have been. I was hoping for solid sleep and I got the opposite. I woke up around 2:30 to my son calling for me. He was sick. I finally found a thermometer that would read his temperature correctly and he was running a fever of over 102 degrees. He went back to sleep around 3:30, and I woke up at 4 and 6 to a baby who rolled over and couldn’t get back on her back. Oh, kids.
So the boy missed out on a birthday party Saturday, and I rescued daddy from total parent duty. We were also trying to keep the baby away from the boy. (He’s fine now. We kept him out of school today, but he hasn’t had a fever since Sunday morning.)
While the boys were at home, I was back downtown and I’m SO HAPPY I was able to see Andrea. We’ve seen each other at conferences where all of our conversations have happened in passing. This time we really got to spend more than 10 minutes talking!
Sunday was all about rest and catching up on all I missed Saturday (laundry, mainly.) My boy didn’t want me out of the room, so I was staying close by as he watched TV and played with his LeapReader.
Oh and one last sweet picture of Lilah at Aloft. We were waiting for the elevator.
I have a few things I’ll update you on this week, such as her 21 week update (what the WHAT?), more photos from my weekend out and about in downtown Asheville, and some other fun things.
I have a prAna giveaway going on RIGHT NOW! Be sure to check it out and take a moment to enter!
How was your weekend?
(Linking up for Marvelous Monday!)
She is SO cute!
