In an effort to participate in National Blog Posting Month, I’m here with a weekend roundup. (I have recipes and updates to share and so much, but…the time change, the busy weekend and today’s weather just have me all types of sidetracked.)

So.

The boy was SUPER excited about Halloween yesterday. He knew we were going to the church fall festival and trick-or-treating. He woke up from his nap in an awful mood and it took about 45 minutes to convince him to change into his costume so we could get the fun started.

Since the time was also changing, I had it in my mind that we would let him do all the bounce house activities at the festival and walk ALL of the streets in our neighborhood. Our neighbors were having a party, so we stopped by there and kind of ignored bedtime. He still went to bed at 9 (turned the clock back and it was 8) and slept 10 hours…well mostly 10 hours. He woke around 4 asking me questions, but he didn’t get out of bed.

When I couldn’t fall back to sleep for almost 2 hours, I was eternally grateful for my husband who took the boy out to the living room so I could get an hour of rest.

I just hope that tonight is a sleep-filled night.

Our meal is planned for the week, all of the groceries purchased, most of the laundry washed, folded and put away, and we’ve enjoyed a somewhat lazy day since it was gray and raining the entire day. (I also managed to run a 5k at the gym – on a treadmill – which I’ll post about later this week. Oy. Treadmill running. But I got it done and I didn’t fall off from exhaustion!)

So here’s to November. Hopefully it won’t be gray the entire month.

  1. A 5K? Girl. You’re amazing. I walked under two miles today and I’m fried. And I’m not expecting anything besides a few books in the mail. šŸ˜‰ Looking forward to a great month of posts!

  2. Hi, I just found your blog through NaBloPoMo, and I really enjoyed this post. I walk a mile home from work, and I cannot imagine running, but I admire those who do. I think you have to have the desire to do it…LOL. Anyway, thank you for a nice blog and enjoyable post.
