Stream of Consciousness: Weekend shenanigans

Oh weekend. I’m so glad to see you. I only worked half of the week and I felt like I really needed the weekend to decompress. We were supposed to do a lot of things today, and ended up canceling on one (that would have taken 5 hours out of our day!)

A few days ago, our sweet innocent toddler was toddling her way down the hallway with big brother’s monkey lovey – the lovey he has had since birth. The same lovey my mom has sewn back together. She was walking down the hallway with it and I didn’t think anything of it until Wednesday when I realized I couldn’t find it. I’ve cleaned his room, her room, the living room. And it hasn’t shown up. I’m a little terrified that it has been thrown away (and you guys. This lovey is now more than $30 on Amazon. It’s been discontinued by the manufacturer.) He’s obviously devastated because he is realizing that she might have thrown it away.

(This is how they watched Sesame Street this morning. She kept sitting on him and he loved it.)

I went for a run today and it was SO nice! The temperatures are in the low 60s, it wasn’t super sunny out and the area I ran was empty. It’s been packed for weeks because of a corn maze, but that ended on Tuesday and we have the roads to ourselves again! So nice.

I cleared out my son’s room on Wednesday. I took the day off (I have time I need to take before the end of November) and I just worked for about 3 hours clearing things out. It’s amazing the difference in that space. A lot of the tiny toys have been moved to the garage, and will be heading out of the house soon. I’ve been trying to see what he’ll play with and what has been forgotten. He’s getting so big, and he doesn’t have the need for half of what was in his room.

I had to renew hosting and a domain name today. The hosting account goes WAY back – more than 10 years. And the domain is roughly 10 years old. Every time I call GoDaddy they mention how I have a pretty old account (based on my customer number.) I hate that I can’t find a ton of coupons for them, even though their prices are reasonable and the service hasn’t been awful over the years. I did realize at some point that if I don’t do auto renew, I can renew manually and get cash back through ebates. (This is a referral link!) Have you tried ebates? I know I’ve mentioned them before, but basically you get cash back if you click on the store link from their site. So I got 9% cash back today. And in the future I’ll get a check for all of the cash back I’ve earned in my online shopping.

I have several great posts coming up. So many cool things to share (including beer shampoo and a giveaway! WHAT?!?) Maybe I can sit down and finish writing and photographing all the things tonight!

And In case you haven’t noticed the recent increase in posts, I’ve decided to give NaBloPoMo a shot again. This is the month where bloggers attempt to write every day for 30 days. I’ve completed it in the past, and I’m hoping that I can contribute something of substance (otherwise, why would you even come back to my site?)

How is your weekend?

  1. Oh my gosh, fingers crossed you find that beloved monkey lovey! And yay for a run with such a perfect temperature. Here’s to a great week ahead.

  2. Has the lovey resurfaced? What on earth did L do with it??

Poor sweetie. I hope it shows up.

And I didn’t realize that about GoDaddy. I use them. And ebates. And all the things.
