Weekend trip: Governor’s Crossing in Sevierville TN

We took a short trip this past weekend to Sevierville, TN and stayed at Governor’s Crossing (resort.) I’ve stayed at this resort a few times with my mom. The last time I was there, I was over 7 months pregnant with my son.

The rooms are condos, so full kitchens and you have the option to rent a studio, one or two bedroom condo. We opted for a one bedroom so the kids could go to bed before the adults, and we would be able to have a light on. (My son is a notoriously poor sleeper.)

The first night we had pizza at a nearby restaurant (called Big Daddy’s – I highly recommend.) It was excellent for kids!

We basically swam all weekend. They also had a bounce pad and miniature golf. We did it all.

The indoor pools were geared towards smaller children, but had two large slides for bigger kids and adults. My son loved the indoor pools!

The resort is close to Tanger Outlets, and we went there Saturday afternoon to avoid the extreme heat. Unfortunately, I think all of the activity, the heat and exhaustion led to one major meltdown. Luckily, it was the only big meltdown of the weekend.

Saturday night, the resort had a movie (Minions) playing outside at the larger pool, so we let our son play while watching it. He chose to ride a float in the lazy river.

It was a good weekend for everyone, and I’m so glad we went. We didn’t get a long vacation this summer, but our son is still talking about the “special trip” he got to go on.
