I managed to go three whole days without blogging. Surprised much? (Yeah, me too.)
Our house is clean (minus the office, and the garage, because those are always messy). I love it, and I’m wondering how long we can keep it looking so nice (maybe another week since we’ll be gone for a few days.)
We did three hours of yard work yesterday. Our leaves are officially raked, bagged and on the curb waiting to be picked up by the city. The husband was commenting on our gigantic tree and how cool it is. I quickly reminded him that the “cool tree” also caused us so much work between October and April. I hate, hate, hate the leaves that we have to deal with now.
In the three hours I spent outside yesterday, I managed to get sunburned. It was about 70 degrees and gorgeous. And now my arms look a little crazy. Hoping it goes away soon.
I also planted our strawberries (finally) yesterday. I’m super excited. I’ve been protecting them from the cold. Now I have to protect them from the mean, nasty squirrels.
Today it’s 80 degrees – and tomorrow it’s supposed to be 53. What the heck, spring??
My car decided to overheat in the middle of a very busy road (busier than usual because of bridge work and lane/exit closures all around.) I did manage to get it down to my mechanic, where it will live for possibly two weeks since there are no open appointments in the next week and a half. (I knew something wasn’t quite right on Friday night, but with the heat today and the standing traffic, it had had enough.) It was such a Monday thing to happen today. My day had been great up until then.
I ran by my mom’s house at lunchtime today, and quickly snapped this photo on my phone. If this doesn’t make you think spring, then I don’t know what will. My goal for this fall is to plant more tulip bulbs. I can’t seem to get enough of them!
