what a crazy weekend!

I hope the week is calmer than my weekend, but I somehow don’t think it will be. I have a dentist appointment Monday, orthodontist appointment on Tuesday, packing to do and we drive 12 hours to New York on Thursday. Oh yeah, and we’re running a half marathon in Canada next Saturday!! Crazy!

We started the weekend off with shopping on Friday evening. Had shopping left to do for our party. Saturday morning, I ran 10 miles, rushed home and showered, and headed over to the J.Crew clearance store (we have a distribution center in Asheville, and every month they do this huge sale where you can buy some of their clothes for ridiculously cheap prices.) I bought a pair of pants and a bathing suit top and spent only $13. I then had to go back to the grocery store to grab last minute items for the party. Little did I know this would be my first of THREE trips to the grocery store in one day.

Our party was at 4:00, in order to allow our friends with children to come and not worry about the kids. It worked out great. We had roughly 40 people show up, and our last guests left at almost 1 a.m. There are videos of my husband singing to the Guitar Hero songs making the rounds on Facebook. Yep. I’m a proud wife. I don’t know if Michael Jackson can be proud, after the way my husband butchered “Beat It.”

We spent much of today recovering. I didn’t have as much to recover from, so I went shopping again. This time to the regular J.Crew store, Old Navy and Target. I just love J.Crew and their sales! Two shirts and a pair of shorts for $50. At Old Navy, I found a pair of bathing suit bottoms to go with the top I bought yesterday. At Target, I scored a timer for our lights, as well as the DVD, “He’s Just Not That Into You.” Wonderful, wonderful movie. I also managed to get in time at the pool. I’m glad it’s summer!!

(As I typed this, I heard glass shattering. There went my shot glass from Universal Studios in Hollywood and my Hoooah! shot glass. Sadness.)

Back to work tomorrow, and then I’m off for a week and a half….and I sooooo need the break! We’re in for a crazy-busy-fun summer and I’ll need another week off by Labor Day to recover from the activities!
