What I’m Reading Wednesday (on my new Kindle!) #reading #books
For my birthday, I received a Kindle (thanks, awesome husband!) Reading on a Kindle is a game changer for me. I wasn’t sure how I’d like it, but I tend to buy books instead of borrowing from the library (they often don’t have what I want) and after months of reading on my Kindle app on my phone, I knew I was ready to make the switch.
Rachel Lacey’s books – Unleashed, For Keeps and Ever After. The author is from North Carolina, which I can obviously relate to. The characters live in a small town in eastern NC and are involved with animal rescue. Of course there is a love story in each book (I mean, why would I read it?) I’m a sucker for cute chick-lit, and I stumbled across one of her books in Sam’s Club of all places. I bought the other two on my Kindle and I’m hooked. I want Rachel Lacey to write even more, please.
From Scratch (I read this over the summer, but I don’t think I’ve mentioned it.) Rachel Goodman wrote this and it’s so good. I followed Rachel’s blog years ago (she no longer updates it) and I was thrilled to see she was still writing…but on a different medium. The story is about Lillie who left Dallas for Chicago and left a whole life behind. She returns to Dallas to help with her father and she has to decide if she wants to return to her successful life in Chicago or if Dallas is really where she’s meant to be. I have her the book on my wishlist. It comes out in May.
Defending Hearts by Shannon Stacey. I loved this one. This series is really focusing on members of a football team many years after the team won a championship. I’m not really a football fan, but I can feel like one reading the “A Boys of Fall” series by Shannon Stacey.
I still have several books on my nightstand that are begging to be read. And I’m almost to the point where I want to read them. (Whyyyyyyy does it take me months to read Jane Green’s books? When I start reading one, I can’t put it down, but it takes me forever to actually start.)
What are you reading right now? What should I download?
you should see if your library has an e-lending program. I am addicted to ours.
The library does have an ebook section! http://ncdigital.lib.overdrive.com
You just need your library card number & pin. They have a pretty great selection.
When I last checked them (for other authors), they didn’t have who I was reading in e-books. :-/ I will check again, though!!
Oohh, From Scratch looks cute!
Did you know that some books allow you to lend them to your friends? I might have some I can send your way. Let me know if you want me to look.
I also have 900-thousand book recs for you. But you knew that already.
This was a fave read this year – – and yes, it’s an aff link – – but it’s the quickest way to grab a short link these days. š
The Coincidence of Coconut Cake – http://amzn.to/1OLQZWO
I too can never find what I read at my library – I know I spend way too much on books – but it’s my “me time” – no Netflix, I’d rather read!!
