Will Hoge plays Asheville…and we’re glad he did
I’ve never attended an entire Will Hoge show. Every show, I’ve either been too tired to stay until the very end, or someone with me has wanted to leave early. Tonight, though, I attended Will’s show by myself. It wasn’t so bad by myself. I was able to immerse myself in the music. Really feel it. Enjoy it. And, I stayed sober the entire time.
Will’s crowd attendance has grown since last September when he was here. I like to think that my podcast helped š It’s conceited of me, but I like to think I helped somehow. I was still somewhat disappointed that the Grey Eagle didn’t sell out, but we’ll get there. One day.
The show was beautiful. Can you use ‘beautiful’ to describe a concert? Will Hoge is intense. You can feel it in every lyric he sings. With every guitar chord. With every foot stomp and every time he clenches the mic. It’s intense. His music has the ability to grab you and pull you in. It’s mesmerizing…it’s good ‘ole southern rock. It’s amazing.
It was two hours of great intensity. His voice is powerful, and he doesn’t need a microphone to help carry it throughout the building. It’s so strong that it carries itself.
The crowd was great, the music was great, the show was early, and I was able to get home at a decent time. All is good…I can’t wait until the next show š
