a workout Wednesday
It’s Wednesday. I’ve been thinking about workouts lately, so I’m dedicating this post to workout Wednesday.
I have mixed reviews on my Shred DVD. I tired of it quickly. I’m still doing the level 3 this week, but I’m not seeing the results that Jillian promised. (I’ve changed some of my eating habits, and I’m not doing the modifications to make the exercises easier.) I think I just need something a little more challenging. And different.
I took a couple of weeks off from running, and then I ran 4 miles this past Saturday when we were in Lake Waccamaw. We tried for 6, but it was SO hot! I ran on Tuesday morning, rather than do the Shred DVD again, and I remembered how in love with running I am. 🙂
Running and I have a love-hate relationship. Sometimes it’s abusive, but if I step away from running for too long, I miss it and have to go back to it with open arms. I also kind of need my morning music fix, and Cowboy Mouth seems to be doing it for me this week.
Once I make it through the Shred this week, I think I’m going to start doing pilates a few mornings each week. Ana Caban’s pilates DVDs might have to do for the next few weeks…or until we get the garage emptied out, whichever comes first.
Oh and I’m planning on my next marathon! Right now I’m leaning towards a marathon in Greensboro, NC on October 3. This race isn’t too far away (maybe 3 hours at the most), is relatively flat and it’ll be cool since we’ll be heading into fall. It will also help me meet my goal of running two full marathons while I’m 30. (I turn 31 on October 7!)
If things play out properly, I may end up running yet another marathon in December. Stay tuned on that one. (It’s not even Kiawah…it’s somewhere else.)
I’m glad to be back in love with running again. I’m sure we’ll break up in September or October, but for now it feels right.
