You Capture – Black and white

I really wanted to take part in the “you capture” challenge hosted by Beth this week, but since my camera didn’t arrive until Tuesday I was a little limited in my photos. I also didn’t “technically” take this photo, but I wanted to share it šŸ™‚

These are my friends, April and Stephanie. Friends I’ve had since middle school – 7th grade. It just turned out that our last names all started with “B” (there’s a fourth friend from our group, but she currently lives in Florida.) With our last names, we were in the same home rooms and almost guaranteed to be seated next to each other in our smart classes in school.

Stephanie now lives in Tennessee (she just recently moved back from Oklahoma with her husband and kids) and she’s only an hour away. April lives about 20 or so minutes from me. We were able to finally get together for dinner last night, and it was so. much. fun.

And this is from our prom in 1995 (junior prom.) I took the picture of the picture this morning. My mom included it in my awesome scrapbook she finished last year.

(Next week’s You Capture topic is “friends” and I knew that I could use these pictures then, but I have a feeling I’ll be shooting more pictures of friends this weekend.)

  1. I had a wonderful time, but I could have done without seeing the junior prom pic again. I looked sooo aweful that year. You are goin to have to prod missy to come up so we can all see each other again.

  2. thanks, everyone! I’m pretty lucky to have awesome friends šŸ™‚

I just got a new digital camera – it’s a Nikon S220. The reviews were mixed, but I talked to photographers I work with (I work at a newspaper) and they all recommended the Nikons for a simple digital camera, so I went for it!
