You capture…..food!
So this week’s You Capture theme is food, and that’s been surprisingly easy for me. (Go here to check out other blogs.) I didn’t get very creative with the pictures. I did, however, get creative with some of the meals I made and that was more important to the husband š
These are tomatoes, straight from my garden! Isn’t the color of the countertop WONDERFUL?!? No? Well, the tomatoes sure were bright. (Note the sarcasm.)
One evening, I made Pasta a la Caprese. I grew up knowing this dish as “zita” because that’s what my family called it and about 3 years ago, my mom and grandma started calling it by it’s formal name. I think that’s lame….calling something one thing a person’s entire life and then switching it up. Anyway. The dish consists of tomatoes, oil, garlic and basil that sit in a covered bowl all day and are poured over ziti noodles. Add mozzarella cheese, and you have yourself a meal!
This was also taken one evening last week. I had to come up with a meal on the fly. We had tons of spinach, so I sauteed it. I threw some of my (homemade) pesto onto chicken breasts, and present you with this….my 15 minute meal:
Last week, my mom bought a grill. It’s pretty huge, and it’s a commercial sized grill (she’s single, guys!) She put it together over the weekend (it took 3 of us to get it out of her car) and we put it to good use on Monday night. I called it my husband’s “last supper” before school started. Or a back to school celebration.

And I think that’s it. Lots of food, and it’s making me hungry š Enjoy the pictures of our meals….
