This week’s You Capture topic is technology, and I figured that wouldn’t be so hard to take a picture of. I’m surrounded by technology – all the time! My cell phone is practically glued to me, I work on a computer all. day. long. I come home and work on a computer. And that’s just a portion of my day.

So here’s my obligatory keyboard shot. Check out how my camera picked up every ounce of dust on the keyboard:

(oh, and in the background you can see my wireless mouse – a Christmas gift from an ex-boyfriend, and it was the best thing I got out of that relationship!)

On Wednesday morning I was out running in the bitter cold and dark, and as I was circling back through my neighborhood, the sun was coming out and the outline of the mountains was beautiful. And then I realized that the view also included towers – for cell phones maybe? I know we have several nearby. So I went out and captured them this morning. It wasn’t as clear as yesterday, but the towers are still there:

Without the towers, there might be a lot less communication. At least from my house, since it sits in the middle of hills.

  1. Great keyboard shot…and the dust just makes it more realistic because, really, who has a clean keyboard? Also love the tower shots. Would be even more beautiful just 100% nature, but then we do need that technology, don’t we? 🙂

  2. I love the keyboard angle and the light that shows the dust only makes it a better shot. And the tower photos are really beautiful and shows another interesting aspect of technology. Very impressive!

  3. Those outdoor shots are beautiful. And they remind me of long car trips when I was little (in the Dark Ages before cell phones) and trying desperately to stay awake as I watched the telephone poles go by, hypnotized by the swooping up and down, up and down of the telephone lines. Things sure have changed since then!

  4. a keyboard with assorted dust particles and fuzzy-wuzzies is a sign of a great mind! (i think confucious said it)

i love your sunset/rise pictures also. awesome color!

i didn’t post this week, but feel free to come on over anytime and visit me in The Shadow of the Cross :O).
